Speech & Language Therapy
About the Program
Language is the key to the world. When access to it is impaired, it affects our lives. In the Speech & Language Therapy bachelor's program, you learn how to support those affected with individually tailored therapy approaches.
Did you know that the number of older patients requiring speech and language therapy has been rising for years? Most of these patients experience language and speech disorders as a result of stroke, or develop chronic swallowing disorders. Due to demographic trends, the number of people living with additional conditions such as dementia after a stroke is also increasing.
The need for speech and language therapy support and treatment in children has also been growing steadily for years. Many arrive at daycare, kindergarten, or school with language disorders. Ideally, these can be compensated with the right support. The same applies to children with congenital language disorders or developmental language disorders.
Our program follows an education-integrated model and awards a dual qualification: the academic degree of Bachelor of Science and the state-recognised title of Speech and Language Therapist.
