Section 1 Scope
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all contracts, services and the use of the website of StudiStep (hereinafter "StudiStep"). Deviating terms of the user shall not become part of the contract unless StudiStep expressly agrees to their validity in writing.
Section 2 StudiStep's Services
StudiStep provides services relating to studying in Germany, in particular:
- educational and study counseling
- German language courses (A1–C2) and exam preparation
- support with application, enrollment, visa and authorities
- organization of a notary-supervised lottery for study places/funding
The type and scope of services result from the respective service description. StudiStep owes diligent performance, but not any particular outcome (e.g. no guarantee of admission, visa or lottery win).
Section 3 Registration and Conclusion of Contract
The use of certain functions requires registration. The user is obliged to provide truthful and complete information and to keep access credentials confidential. The contract is concluded upon confirmation of the registration or the booking of a service by StudiStep.
Section 4 Participation in the Lottery
The lottery is notary-supervised and carried out transparently. By participating, the user accepts the terms of participation. There is no legal entitlement to a prize; the selection is made on a random basis. The participation fee is a one-time payment of €49.00 and includes participation as well as access to the free A1–A2 language course. The prizes are funded from the revenue of the language courses.
Section 5 Prices and Payment
The prices stated at the time of booking, including statutory value-added tax, apply. Payment is made via the payment methods offered. In the event of default of payment, StudiStep is entitled to withhold services until payment has been received in full.
Section 6 Right of Withdrawal & Immediate Provision of Digital Content
The participation fee includes immediate access to digital content (online language course) as well as a service rendered immediately. By booking, the consumer expressly consents to StudiStep beginning the provision immediately – before any withdrawal period expires – and acknowledges that they thereby lose their right of withdrawal. The right of withdrawal therefore expires pursuant to Section 356(5) of the German Civil Code (BGB) (digital content) or Section 356(4) BGB (fully performed services). Accordingly, there is no 14-day return or withdrawal right in this case.
The corresponding express consent and the acknowledgment of the loss of the right of withdrawal are obtained before the contract is concluded.
Section 7 User Obligations
The user ensures that all information and documents submitted are correct, complete and lawful. The user is responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide.
Section 8 Liability
StudiStep is liable without limitation in cases of intent and gross negligence as well as for injury to life, body or health. In the case of simple negligence, StudiStep is liable only for breach of a material contractual obligation (cardinal obligation) and limited in amount to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Otherwise, liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
Section 9 No Guarantee of Success
StudiStep expressly points out that decisions regarding study admission, visas and official approvals rest exclusively with the competent bodies (universities, authorities, consulates). StudiStep assumes no liability for this and owes no particular outcome.
Section 10 Data Protection
You can find information on the processing of personal data in our Privacy Policy.
Section 11 Final Provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the state in which the consumer has their habitual residence remain unaffected. Should any provision of these GTC be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected (severability clause).
As of: 2026. StudiStep reserves the right to amend these GTC with effect for the future.
